Moving In and Out Markers

PostThu Jun 08, 2023 11:26 pm

Hi Everyone

I ran across a new problem. I can't get my in and out markers to work. I just wanted to select a small portion of my video to bring down to my timeline and it won't allow it.

See the link below which will illustrate my problem.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure why clicking the UI controls underneath the viewer isn't working for you. Have you tried using the "I" key to set the "In" point and the "O" key to set the "Out" point instead? How about the menu selections ("Mark -> Mark In" and "Mark -> Mark Out")?

Looks like you are looking at the timeline viewer, not the source viewer. Double-click your source clip in the media pool to load it into the source viewer.

This morning when I opened it everything worked fine. Had to have been something in the software.
Thanks for responding.

I wasn't in the timeline. But thank you for your thoughts. It started working this morning fine. It must have been a glitch in the software.

Have a good day.

Your YouTube video showed the word 'timeline' identifying the viewer - I thought maybe that was what it was indicating. Could it be that you double-clicked a clip in the timeline and that loaded the timeline clip into the viewer? It's hard to know when only seeing one viewer on the display. I should have checked my own display to see that you were showing the timeline viewer - I was just going from memory (which wasn't that good, apparently - lol). Glad you got it sorted.

I wondered about that too, but when he moved the playhead in the viewer the playhead in the timeline didn't move - and when he clicked the In or Out point markers in the viewer there was no change of the in and out points in the timeline.

Weird situation, not sure exactly what happened there...
