Render Glitch

PostFri Jun 09, 2023 11:26 pm

Rendering out a feature and noticing some render glitches that appear in various frames. Nothing constant. A new render will be fine, but may add in another one at a different point.

Seems to be only in sections with Fusion graphics - simple text.

They can also appear in the timeline with this sort of glitch. Double clicking the clip shows the glitch. Match frame brings back the original picture how it should be.

Clearing the cache files doesn't fix it. Restarting Resolve can.

Raw files are located on an external 40TB thunderbolt drive. Rendering back to the same drive, or to attached fibre drives doesn't seem to make a difference.

Trying to figure out what's causing this, as we can't have bad frames going out in final delivery, and don't want to have to end up doing multiple passes on export to get a good final file.

This project was shot on ARRI Raw, graded using ACEScct, output transform to Rec. 709.

Running Resolve Studio 18.1.2 on macOS Monterey 12.6.1.

Since Apple is taking care of the GPU drivers, I’d suggest updating Monterey to its current version. And while you are at it, why not DR too? 18.1.4 is current.

Now, which codec do you export?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
