DaVinci Resolve Studio Purchase

Hello,

I have some questions about DaVinci Resolve Studio which I cannot find the answers to via Google:

1. If I purchase the DaVinci Resolve Studio on AppStore, after that, can I download the version on BMD to install on my Mac and use it without a purchase one more time again?

2. If I purchase the DaVinci Resolve Studio from the BMD website, I will receive an activation code/ serial key, which I will enter to activate the app. Then,
- How many PC/MAC I can use that key to activate and use at the same time?
- How many times I can re-enter that serial key to move from a PC/MAC to another PC/MAC when I change my PC/MAC? Can it be unlimited? For example, each year I change to use a new PC.

The App Store macOS license key is totally separate to the App Store iOS license key (for iPad) and both are separate to the Blackmagic Design supplied license key. These licenses are not interchangeable.

The Apple supplied licenses are managed by Apple as a part of the App Store.

The Blackmagic Design supplied license key allows two concurrent seats across Mac, Windows and Linux OS. The idea is you can have DaVinci Resolve Studio on your desktop and laptop at the same time.

You can deactivate a Blackmagic Design key from the help menu, and this is the only way we recommend, and then reactivate on another computer so you always have two seats available.

Note, the App Store allows family activation for more than 2 seats but has sandbox restrictions for security so many third party plugins and control panels will not work with the App Store versions. We also can not publish beta versions on the App Store so release there is always later than the Blackmagic support page releases.

We highly recommend purchase from the Blackmagic Design web store is there is one in your country, or from an official Blackmagic Design reseller. They are listed on our web site.

From where did you purchase the license?
Did you purchase the activation code or USB hardware dongle?

The seller should have mentioned how they distribute the code or key.
