How are you viewing the render? What is your output color space setting (and gamma)? This could be the classic QuickTime gamma issue (raised on this forum every once in a while). If you load the render back into Resolve, does it look OK there?

Viewing in Davinci it's using Davinci YRGB color science, timeline color space is Rec.709 (Scene) and the output color space is same as timeline. When I bring the rendered version back to my timeline, some numbers and colors are fixed but a few are still incorrect

What codec was used for the export?

If you are exporting QuickTime (and not MXF), have a look at these:

Now I have to take another drink! Read these:

"Grading for Mixed Delivery: Cinema, Home, and Every Screen in Between" by Cullen Kelly
https://blog.frame.io/2019/10/14/gradin ... -delivery/

and

"How to Deal with Levels: Full vs. Video"
by Dan Swierenga
https://www.thepostprocess.com/2019/09/ ... l-vs-video

and I think both cover the issues and the solutions very well.

Understanding color management is also helpful:

"Color Management for Video Editors"
https://jonnyelwyn.co.uk/film-and-video ... o-editors/

The above articles will explain why things change on different displays, different playback engines, and the importance of calibration and color-managed outputs.

I generally try to export a second or two of SMPTE Bars at the head of the project, and I import the file back into Resolve to check it on scopes to verify all the levels are correct. Using calibrated displays is a must -- without that, you have no idea what you're looking at. We also accept that the basic picture is going to change a little bit on different devices, because that's life.

My renders on external players and on YT presented washed and oversaturated colours (on calibrated monitor).
After a long troubleshooting session and a few attempts, Google AI (among other things) suggested to try to go to DVR Preferences - General and try to activate/deactivate "Use Mac color profiles for viewers" and "Automatically tag Rec.709 scene clips as Rec.709-A".
I only had to deselect the former to have the issue sorted. The latter remained selected.

I don't know what caused this issue, maybe one of the many MacOS updates? I did not update DVR instead because I had an open project.
I think Google AI spared me a lot of further extra efforts.
