Why would this happen?
Is there a way to stop it from happening, I can't see any way that this behaviour is helpful lol

Anyone know a way around this except exporting the whole timeline and resizing it that way?

Try the following steps:
1. Create a new timeline and uncheck the "Use Project Settings" checkbox.
2. In the format tab set the resolution the same as the source clips.
3. Go to the output tab, uncheck the "Use Timeline Settings for Output Scaling" and set the output resolution to a vertical resolution.

Thanks for the suggestion! Sadly no it didn't work, it just cuts it off at the top and bottom this way

Any progress on this? Hard to believe this could still be a problem but I am experiencing the edges cut off when reframing.

I've got a solution, though it's annoying to have to do it this way:
In the timeline settings when you switch to vertical resolution in the mismatched resolution dropdown choose 'Scale entire image to fit'.
Click OK. Select all your video clips and zoom to 3.160.
From there you can adjust framing as needed.
Hope this helps!

It's super frustrating that we're still experiencing this bug in August. Running into this same issue!

I am adding my frustration to this issue as well. Hopefully, BM can address this.

STILL A PROBLEM IN DAVINCI 20!
I am sitting here at 11pm cause I have to re-build every single MC-cut for every single video clip we've edited in this project. Feels like good old Premiere Pro days.
Please please fix this Blackmagic

Good to know it's not just me. But I WILL SAY - of my 3 video layers (angles) in my multicam clip, one angle CAN be moved left and right (while in my vertical timeline that contains the horizontal multicam clip) and the sides of that one angle have NOT been deleted. If I rearange the multicam layers it's still the same angle that works while the other 2 layers don't work, they are still cropped off when repositioning.
No idea why the one clip works and the others don't.
