Remote Monitoring isn't working

I'm running the studio version of 18.6 and tried this since 18.5 beta but haven't got it to work. I have a Mac Book Pro M1 Max with 32 GB of ram. According to the system requirements, there's only special for Windows and Linux, none for Mac, so M1 should work. I've logged in to BM could in both resolve and the app.
But I haven't seen any requirements for the network, is there any ports that needs to be open?
However the issue is that in the app I get the message "Error, Connections timed-out". I tried both the iPhone app and the app that is in the same folder as Resolve, so I run the monitor app on the same computer as Resolve.
Anyone that has an idea of what the issue could be?

I have the exact same issue and can't figure out why. Remote Monitoring was working perfectly in 18.1 and I rely on it for a lot of my work.

It works most of the time for me, but I have seen that issue pop up before. I was on a clients wifi at the time and I put it down to firewall issues.
Have you tried it on a different network/wifi?

I have been using remote monitoring since 18.5.1. It has and is working great on 18.6.9. I have a rocky Linux 8.6 system with 3 Nvidia rtx 3080 ti’s and have viewed it on a iPad Pro, MacBook Pro m2 pro max and a windows machine all day long with 8k decklink card via sdi. The only issue I have ever seen is if I use dual monitoring and have key frames displayed the image will drop frames on the local system display and subsequently the remote display. Turn off key frames, dual monitoring or switch to edit tab no dropped frames. Changing settings under the "davinci resolve" tab, "user, playback settings" check hide ui overlays and minimize interface updates seems to help the keyframe display studder issue also. I have used my m2 pro max MacBook as a source in 18.5.4 but only as a test.

just tried it with my m2 pro max macbook pro and it works great also with both 18.5 and 18.6. I did go into user playback settings and check hide ui overlays and minimize interface updates during playback because I was seeing periodic minor studdering.

Are all of the remote monitoring endpoints you mention that work for you on your local network as your Resolve system or are they other locations? I can’t seem to get Remote Monitor to work unless they are on the same local network which diminishes its usefulness.
When the iPad is on a remote network i get the same issue JockeSv describes above.

The system running resolve and sending via remote monitoring is 45 miles away.

Yes I've tried both at home and at the office, same issue. It would be nice if BM could provide some logs of what's happening. Resolve doesn't even show that anyone is trying to connect.

It doesn't work for me either. I always get the "Error, Connections timed-out". I've tried different networks and different BM Cloud Accounts.
Resolve Studio 18.6, Windows 10 22H2, Nvidia 546.01 -> iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 17.1

I'm having same issue. iPhone and iPad work flawlessly on same wifi network as host, but when I switch to cellular connection only, or try from an off-site WiFi, the connection just times out-consistently.

I was not able to get it working for few weeks, the culprit was firewall blocking the outgoing & incoming network connections, when I disabled firewall it worked so then I had to configure the firewall some 8-10 different prompts for permission were asked by my firewall for which I allowed.
Since then it works fine except some time it drops connections.
Ideally Resolve should have sort of pop up informing the errors.

This is what i suspected. What ports did you open? What promps did you run?

These are few permissions which it ask for, I use Little snitch firewall in notify mode.

every time I start remote monitoring it prompts me for other 2-3 permissions for different IP addresses.

You have to change your name on Blackmagic Cloud if in your name there is a letter not recognized by the program. In my case I had to change from Perdonò to Perdono.
In the ResolveDebug you should have a string like this.
[0x00002fd4] | RemoteStream | ERROR | 2024-02-29 00:11:32,122 | Failed to parse peerId's 4835eaa0-1ae5-4dac-90dc-c3c2aa88f885 memberId: {"email":"kairoscineproduction@gmail.com","name":"Francesco Perdon??","photo_url":"https://s.gravatar.com/avatar/046239ecdaf6731ea46416a20bd1fe79?s=480&r=pg&d=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.auth0.com%2Favatars%2Ffp.png","type":"client"}
This is stupid for such a software like this, but this is the real problem. Check the debug for the unreconigzed letter, maybe the accented one. Sorry for the bad english

Wow! Never thought that my name would be the issue. Now it works as expected!

I've never been able to use Remote Monitoring. Really wanted to try using it today for a problematic shoot that used three cameras in an all white room, one of which didn't have white balance correctly set (full disclosure: I'm no colourist). I again was trying to connect today to no avail.
I came across this thread just now through Google search and thought "What the heck, why not give this a try?" (my name is spelled 'André'). Went to Blackmagic Cloud, removed the accent from my name, closed Resolve down, re-opened it and it instantly worked! Amazing!

I was having the same issue with remote monitoring freezing and dropping out on Resolve 19. The culprit appears to be Windows Firewall. I added Resolve Remote Monitoring from the Black Magic Programs folder in Windows Directory into the Firewall and after a restart its working well so far.

Did you have anything special setup in your network to get remote monitoring working remotely. I have no issues with it working as long as the devices are all on the same network, tried 3 remote networks and 3 diferent computers also tested a few diferent versions of Resolve it allways times out with remote connections.
