Effects Favorites and Column Layouts constantly resetting

I've experienced this for years, keep on waiting for it to get addressed, and it never does. I've seen this across multiple systems so it can't just be me!

…are constantly reset. I think it has to do with changing screen resolutions/ layouts, which, since I'm on a laptop, happens every time I connect an external monitor. But even that doesn't seem to be 100% consistent.

Why on earth aren't these remembered? And where is this metadata stored? I've never been able to find that, so I can't even back them up. Favorite Effects is annoying, but losing column layouts really sucks, since I use multiple and they're quite customized, so take ages to rebuild.

I was having the issue with the Effects and Dynamics windows not being clickable after upgrading to MacOS Sonoma 14.1, but my Power Bins and Favorited Effects were there still.

I just upgraded to 14.1.1 and while the issue with Fairlight was resolved, my Power Bins and Favorited effects disappeared. I soon realized I had to re-enable the Power Bins, which is a huge relief, but I hope there is a way to get the favorited effects back.

No, I've seen it from time to time.

Frustrating when I use a shortcut to apply my 'Favorite' transition...and it's been changed to the default Cross Dissolve.

I guess I hadn't noticed because since I wasn't able to use Fairlight I just stopped using Resolve and went temporarily back to Final Cut Pro.

It does seem a very odd design decision to link favourites to the workspace but perhaps that can be useful if you save custom workspace layouts (then, rather than resetting the workspace you can load a previous workspace preset to establish a 'known' state of the UI). Cheers.

Yeah, this is a known bug and I hope it'll be fixed someday.

I didn't, but it still happens anyway. So there's more going on here.

Has this been resolved yet? I lost all my favorite effects and then just added them back. But once I switch to the fusion tab and then went back to edit and all of them were gone again in less than a minute. I don't want to have to keep find effects over and over again. I hope there is a fix for this

Still no resolution. I'm the OP and came back here to see if anyone had any new news. SO FRUSTRATING.

I discovered something that may actually be a solution.

If you create a Workspace > Layout Preset, then that seems to make it remember your column layouts. Make one for your desktop setup (with multiple monitors) and another for your laptop-only (single monitor), and create your Column Layouts in each. Not sure if you have to update the Layout Preset if you change the Column Layout, but this does seem to solve the problem.
