Best sites to get free assets for DaVinci Resolve 18.6?

Hello everyone, how's everyone doing today?

As you can see, I'm actually a new user of DaVinci Resolve 18.6, and first off I have to say I can't believe you can do a lot more here rather than Filmora video editor itself. Don't get me wrong, I'm still learning the basics of DaVinci still it's a bit of a learning curve I'll give that.

Straight to the point my main reason of me transitioning here from Filmora is just the fact you are just so limited on what you can on Filmora as a whole. From adding amazing presets and assets and so much more. I feel like Filmora is a lot more for beginners or anyone who just wants to do a quick video editing and be done with it.

So my main question is do you guys know or at least would recommend any great platform or sites that will let me download some free assets (i.e. social media lower thirds, transitions, effects, templates, etc.)

To give you guys a quick summary of what I do is that I'm a podcaster and got my own podcast known as "Definitely Hustlin' Podcast", and I honestly struggle with creating really amazing lower thirds and even some few transitions or effects during my episodes. I do believe I have the ability to do all that on DaVinci Resolve, but like I've said earlier I'm still learning the basics still. So any help or recommendation would be highly appreciative of it! Thanks and looking forward for any helpful responses on my forum!

There are various YouTuber etc who offer fusion made templates and effects, some for free some not. Just search in your search engine of choice for free lower thirds for resolve or free templates for resolve etc and it should lead you to many such websites.

If you are new to Fusion and making your own effects, check out forum called "We suck less" and their free Reactor depository of many many free macros, plug ins and all kinds of amazing stuff for Fusion. All free with optional donations. Must have.

Alright, thanks for that one KrunoSmithy. I'll definitely go ahead and check it out, and also I've been actually looking around for any potential good platforms or sites that can offer the same thing I'm looking for. So far, I've seen sites like Motion Array, Envato, and others, but most of them require you to have a subscription plan in order to download their presets and so on.

So would you say I'm able to do all that within the video editor itself, I mean I actually would love to create my very own social media lower thirds?

Yes. Fusion page is like After Effects and Nuke crossbreed, so its basically all you would need to do VFX like in Nuke but also motion graphics like in After Effects. You can do pretty much anything you want and there are many presets build into Resolve that are just saved presets from Fusion page. You could use those, from lower thirds to title sequences, and with little changes you can modify them. But if Fusion page seems too complicated to you at the moment, there are people who create so called macros, which are basically more complex presets made in Fusion and sometimes with additional scripting. So they can be used by editors on the edit page and not have to go to Fusion. Often they are quite flexible in what one can modify. Let me take a look at some YouTube that make tutorials and offers their presets, some free some paid.

Here is a list of some YouTubers who make tutorials, offer free and paid presets and even their own custom plug ins for motion graphics mostly in Fusion and resolve. Might be ideal for you . Check their youtube pages , I'll post links, and check their websites where they have the presets.

Thanks a bunch, KrunoSmithy! I'll definitely look at them and perhaps with these, I could definitely learn how to do all that inside DaVinci Resolve 18. Awesome!

You are welcome. Its worth learning more, because it gives you so much more power and flexibility once you learn even a little bit, but if not, there is a lot of presets and all kinds of tools to make it easier. Good luck.

You may want to check out MrAlexTech's Magic Animate V3 which is great in my opinion.

My best free asset is MagicAnimate.
But unfortunately, there no much asset for Resolve. I have subscribe to Envato, and really hard to find Resolve Creator there.
