The current licensing mechanism permits a maximum of two (2) simultaneous activations.

And they can be legally used at the same time.

As many as you want, but not simultaneously. You can switch the licenses back and fourth quite easily.

If you do that too often beyond two, they may block you for a while.

Since Da Vinci Resolve 19, the number of computers that can run concurrently has changed to 1.
Until 18, it was two computers, but from 19, it is only one computer, and the other one requires a licence when running.

This is not correct.
There is no change to the two concurrent limit for activations from a single activation key.

I’m not able to get two active clients. If I use my key on my Mac Studio and then use the same key on my MacBook Pro it will log out the Mac Studio. Am I doing something wrong??

Are you sure nobody else has your key?

You can run it on both of your computers with the same license key.
The iPad license is completely separate and needs to be bought in addition.

We solve the problem by paying for a whole bunch of legit copies of Resolve, and each system has a unique individual serial number. Never a problem, never an authorization issue.

People seem to have the wrong impression that Resolve software is expensive. It's not. It's the everything else you need to run Resolve at a high level that's expensive: workstation, GPUs, drives, calibrated display, control surfaces, and so on. The software is only $295, but everything else can easily go over $50,000 (really over $100,000 with theatrical digital intermediates). Me, I'm glad it costs a lot less than the $995 it was back in 2010.

While I consent that the software is not really expensive, your key should work on two machines.
If it doesn’t, it must be still in use somewhere else.
