Hi all,
Over the last week I've been embarking upon a significant audio mixing+editing job within Fairlight.
This is my first time using Fairlight to undertake a proper mix (though I've been using the Media, Edit, Color and Delivery pages for a number of years now for other work), so I went as far as I could to set it up the same way I would in any other DAW:
-Submixes
-VCAs
-Sends for reverbs and other affects
-Other busses for groups or fx etc.
I've encountered a lot of glitches, bugs, strange behaviour along the way, however nothing I couldn't put up with. Just had to power through.
However, yesterday things have got more serious:
I've experienced a lot of my automation data completely disappearing. I managed to get some of it back by rolling backwards and forth through the Undo history window. Even though I did not give the command to remove or delete any automation, doing that made some of the missing data re-appear.
However, after closing the project/resolve and re-opening, some automation was completely missing. As in it was just gone as if it had never been there. And this has happened on repeated closing/opening. At first I thought it was only on automation that had been controlling plugins (3ᴿᴰ party or otherwise), but it also applied to track/mixer settings as well.
Additionally, some automation started to affect other tracks sporadically. Eventually most of this subsided after toggling the Global Automation on/off button.
I also found an example of a line of automation data having swapped to the track directly preceding it.
But the missing automation is the most concerning behaviour. It's something I cannot move forward with if it continues, as there's just too much information to have to re-enter from memory and rebuild.
I'm currently planning to keep Resolve running for as long as it takes to get a working version of my timelines exported as stems for safety.
----
I'm currently running Resolve Studio 18.6.4.
And the project is a Cloud library collaboration. However no other user had opened the project while I was working in it.
I'm using a few 3ᴿᴰ party plugins in the session, but not many.
I'm happy to provide a copy of the project without media.
Please advise me on the best way of doing this from the Cloud Library that I've currently got access to.
Thanks!
