Not sure that would be a remix, which is a feature that just got added to version 19. You can change the levels of song tracks like Vocals, Guitar, and Bass.

What you're looking for seems more like a retiming effect.

Best practice is to search first, to see if someone already asked. If not, post one idea per thread with a very brief description of the idea in the thread's title.

FCP-X on the iPad can do it with the included music beds, so maybe you bought the wrong NLE.

Or wait for a while, and AI will do your whole video for you anyway…
