Generating subtitles Resolve goes into infinite loop

Sometime (but not always, more like 1/5 times) when I try to generate subtitles in Resolve, Resolve goes into a very "aggressive" infinite loop.
The subtitle generation stops at the "Initialize" stage, CPU and GPU work at high capacity. Most strangely, if Smart cache is enabled, Resolve goes "berserk" with writing files into the clip cache. If render cache is set to "none" Resolve just freezes. In both cases, only way to recover is to kill Resolve from the Taskmanager, pressing "Stop" in the UI has not effect.
Sometimes choosing an ohter track helps and I can generate from there, in this last case, none of my 3 audio tracks worked.
A couple of screenshots:
Taskmanager load:

- subtitles.jpg (55.32 KiB) Viewed 4658 times
Files generated

- subtitles2.jpg (87.63 KiB) Viewed 4658 times
Result of waiting about 1-2 minutes for the process to complete. Yesterday when I took a coffee break after starting subtitle generation Resolve had nenerated about 30 Gb of files and the number of files was close to half a million. Good stresstest for the SSD..

- subtitles3.jpg (51.81 KiB) Viewed 4658 times

Did you ever found a solution? After trying to create subtitles from audio (German, tried different settings, auto etc.) I am stuck on initializing… and can’t stop the process. I have to force quit resolve.

Edit: I had to turn off Voice iso audio effect. Works now. Phew.
Thanks

Came here after pulling my hair out over this all morning, worked yesterday. Can confirm, disabled the new AI tools on my dialogue track and tried it again and it worked fine.

It's insane, as soon as I disabled AI audio tools like ducker and voice isolation - It started working fine.
Also, Dialogue separator is causing audio rendering issues - some initial part of audio is rendered and rest of the audio is just not rendered (it's mute).

This happened to me on a recent project. I had a documentary that was 60 minutes long and the subtitle function stopped halfway through. I went over to Premiere Pro (boo!) and that was even worse - it stated that it would take 3 days, so I found a workaround. I reckon that a long project is too much for DaVinci so I simply split the subtitle generation into 6 x 10 minute chunks. Just set an In and Out point and generate the subs in bits. Clear the I & O using alt or option and x, and keep going - no problem at all. I must also say that the subs it generated were really impressive - putting quotation marks where necessary and getting names and complex words entirely correct. Of course you have to check the subs and adjust where necessary, but overall, they were 99% accurate. Export the sub file by right clicking on the sub track. Hope this helps.

I just wanted to say that I’m still encountering this problem (19.1.4), it's really annoying and a fix would be really appreciated!

For me works:
1. Highlight all relevant Audio
2. Make New Compound Clip out of them
3. Generate Captions (now working)
4. Highlight all Captions and copy it into your clipboard
5. undo steps until your project is like before
6. rightclick track area "Add subtitle track"
7. Paste
I like this approach more because you can't forget to enable / disable some effects.

I encountered this today - I'd imagine it's because I used "voice isolation" for the first time.
My workaround is: export sound only (uncheck VIDEO) in PCM format, then drag that file onto a new timeline. Subtitle generation then works there.
Don't forget to set the timeline to start at 0 or subtitles will be exported out of sync...
Thanks for the hints!

That's unfortunate.

Very. My 30 minutes task today turned into a whole morning of troubleshooting and thinking "how did I fix that last time it happened?"...
