View status of render cache

Working on an elderly PC with demanding H265 HFR UHD footage - so making use of the render cache (render cache colour output - render cache/user enabled).

Is there a way to see the progress of the cache creation?

Also is there a way to force cache of certain clips (i.e. a 'render range')?

That blue line is your progress indicator.

Select them and manually turn on their Cache.
