Playhead doesn't follow through tabs

PostFri Apr 26, 2024 12:04 pm

Hi,

I have observed a strange behavior on our two 2019 Mac Pros that I can't explain. After finishing a grade, we often have to update VFX shots and patch them into an already rendered EXR/DPX DSM. Sometimes, I need to adjust a grade, and naturally, I have to switch frequently between the color and delivery pages.

On one machine, the playhead follows the selected clip from the color tab to the delivery tab. However, on the other Mac, the playhead jumps from the color tab to the delivery tab, landing at a completely different position every time.

It's quite unnerving to remember the shot number and then have to select that shot again on the delivery tab, especially when the behavior differs between the two machines. I suspect it's a setting, but I can't find one that matches my description.

By the way, this behavior hasn't changed throughout the 18.x releases.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only time I've seen this is when you have some clip filters engaged.

I see what you mean, but in my case there are no clips filters on.

I think it's a bug where Resolve wants to go back to the original Edit page playhead position.

Can you screen record the issue? Seeing it may trigger some ideas.

Could it be a range is defined on one and not the other (in/out points)?
That can mess up things between Edit and Deliver. I even made it a habit to always press Alt+X.
If I need a range for export, I define it in the Deliver timeline.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

No, there are no ranges defined.

Here you can see how the playhead follow on Mac Pro 1:

And here you can see how it does not follow on Mac Pro 2:

Thanks for any ideas!

I have never seen anything like that.
