Fusion page doesnt play clip added directly from media pool

PostSat May 25, 2024 2:24 pm

Hi all. I have a 5 clips that i converted into a Fusion Clip. It all came into fusion merged. Then i simply tried to add another clip directly from Media Pool just to compare them. That newly added clip doesn't play at all. It shows up in the keyframe menu, all the In/Out timings are correct, its starting at frame 0 and end long after the other clips. Yet i still can't play it. The clip itself plays well in the edit page but i wanted to add into fusion for a moment.

What am i doing wrong ?

Your screenshots look OK to me. What frame number is the playhead on?

Is it possible that your viewer has been scrolled offscreen? If so, you can fix it by going to the size drop-down in its upper-left corner and choosing "Fit".

Is it possible that there's an issue with the source footage itself? Does it play properly in Media Pool?

Thats the thing , everything works well. I can bring another, different clip into that fusion clip and that works, just this one somehow doesn't play ball. All of them are exr, few jpgs as well. One .mov. All fine except this one. The play head is in the right place, i mean I'm scrubbing the timeline left and right on other clips, they play fine. The view is not offscreen either.

Does the clip play properly in the viewer in the Media Pool?

The usual reasons I have for things not showing up in Fusion are either a node that looks like it's connected but actually isn't (doesn't seem to be the case here) or a MediaIn or Loader node that has its Global In/Out value restricted to a shorter length than the Fusion composition (also doesn't look like it's the case here). Not sure what else might be the issue.

One thing you might try is to use a Loader node to bring the clip into Fusion directly without going through the Media Pool.

I tried all of those thing youve mentioned, even the loader. The clip plays fine in the edit, im using it there, not issue whatsoever. I think it has to do with the Fusion Clip being created first, then trying to add new clip into that. All the other clips are named Fusion Clip, so they kind of referenced to the Fusion Clip itselfe, from the edit page. Strange behaviour. Im sure there is a way to fix / avoid it but its something very specific that im not aware of.
