Puget Bench, M3 Max Macbook vs Pc

FYI, not seen anyone post detailed comparisons between Apple Silicon and Intel for resolve.

Of course this company sells PCs, so how much ever salt you think appropriate

Overall, the MacBook does surprisingly poorly in DaVinci Resolve compared to Premiere Pro, and there isn’t really any area we tested where the MacBook would be better than any of the PC systems. Some of the low performance is definitely a bug (for example, Encoding HEVC 50 Mbps 8-bit operated at two fps on the Mac v ~40 for any PC), but a big part is just how well-optimized Resolve is for NVIDIA GPUs.

Sad they didn't include the breakdown charts.

Also sad they only tested high end, 4080\90 and M3 Max. I get the impression that low end Mac is better bang per $. How does a i7\4060 machine compare?

Jarrod's Tech is good about running Puget bench on the laptops he gets, if the versions match, you should be able to cross compare his numbers for a much bigger laptop comparison list

I know in the past people submitted numbers to the database on the Puget website. Including tests of various Mac machines.
