I've had this computer since about 2019, early 2020 (lenovo laptop, windows 11, idk the specifics). I've had davinci resolve (rn at version 18.6) for about a year or 2. Basically, about 3 days ago, I started running into an issue where whenever I try to open Davinci Resolve, it gets to part of the loading screen, gets stuck there for about 30 seconds, then closes. 3 days ago, I was able to fix the issue by restarting the computer, but ever since i encountered the problem again yesterday, I haven't been able to fix it. I've tried restarting it, uninstalling and reinstalling the computer, optimizing it with some weird settings on windows (which were extremely outdated, with the latest setting being windows 8), turning off my vpn (1.1.1.1) and disconnecting all usb connected devices (i saw on a similar post on r/Davinciresolve that that worked), and doing some weird stuff with files. This somewhat helped. Originally, it'd get stuck on "Loading Project Settings", but now, it gets stuck on "Loading Projects", which comes later. An unfortunate side-effect is that the loading process is extremely slow. I know it's specific to Davinci Resolve, as I've been able to open other applications like Audacity, Minecraft, and Chrome. I'm seriously confused and somewhat scared. Is there a way to fix this? Has anyone else solved this? Should I be concerned for my computer? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows Desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open the Windows System Information app and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here. Make sure the links don't require access credentials.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

That's helpful, but a Resolve log file was also requested.

But, based on what I see in the NFO, try this:

Open the Windows Apps & features control panel, then uninstall the DaVinci Resolve Control Panels app.

Now see if Resolve will start. If not, send an updated NFO file, and a Resolve log file.

Also not the original poster, but same problem and same solution for me. Only started after I upgraded to 19.1 (build 12)
