Hello to everyone interested in this topic - the issue with decoding h.264 4k 422 10 bit files on MacBook with Apple M3 Pro chip in the 19.01 version is not present anymore
I was scared of updating the MacOS but it helped.
I am very grateful to all the members of the DaVinci Resolve Studio team.
I hope that there will be no more bugs with the new version of the MacOS

Hello, i m having the same Issues here on my MacBook Air M1.
when rendering a video, i get the following notification, when im using hardware acceleration:
"Error decoding full resolution media for C0826.MP4
at 01:00:08:14. Please check that the file is
accessible and has a valid codec."
This clip is from My Sony A7IV and shot in 4K XAVC-S 4:2:2 10-Bit. Luckily without Hardware Acceleration it works, but then its rendering for ages...
BlackMagic Please fix this

I have the same problem with my iMac. M1 with 16 gigs of ram and the bigger gpu. So until I have not upgraded to the 19 resolve I had zero issues with the software. But now I have the same. If I modify my clip(4.2.2 10bit sony), like put on a 25 frame timeline, slow it down, color it, or something, it just wont export. If I check the hardware acceleration out, it exports but toooo slooow. What should I do? Can you solve this problem? I have the 19.1.1 right now and still not working. I'm so sad about this, because I don't want to switch back to premiere. If I want to export a bigger timeline, I have to do it in premiere. Still slow but not that slow as davinci without hardware acceleration. So any kind of feedback from BlackMagic? Also I have the latest mac os, so I don't think that will be my problem. Please help!

I would avoid Sequoia for that machine, rather use Sonoma.
Apart from smaller issues, that were fixed in 19.1.1, I have just finished a rather remanding project. It rendered for 17 (!) hours in final quality. Showing that my M1 Pro is getting old for more demanding software, but without any further problem. My most stable laptop ever.
So, I'd first suggest a fresh install of DR 19.1.1, maybe uninstalling first, even if not normally needed for MacOS. If that doesn't help, let's get more drastic:
- Export a .drp of your project.
- Free up any reasonably fast external storage.
- Install a fresh Sonoma to it.
- Boot from there.
- Install DR Studio.
- Import your .drp into the empty Library.
- Try again.
