izotope round trip

I have the most latest beta version of resolve downloaded. When I'm in Fairlight, and right click on an audio clip, then select 'External Audio Process', then izotope rx11, it does nothing. It's setup correct in settings. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how they fixed it.

Thanks!!

Hi Gavin, thanks for the response.
Everything is up to date on my end (mac user).

I'll also add, waveforms are not showing either. Not sure if I did something wrong on setup or if it's just a glitch. All I know is, it's frustrating and slowing me down.

External Audio Processes are operational on macOS and Windows including RX9 and RX10.

Please indicate Resolve version and operating system.

Is the External Audio Process configured with the "Command Line" type?

Is the Save Clips To path valid and pointing to an available volume?
Project Settings > Capture and Playback > Capture > Save Clips to

Remove RX as an External Audio Process and reconfigure. Restart Resolve. Any change?

Thank you for your help!!!

Has this issue been resolved? I have tried all these, but the round trip is still not working. I am using RX10 and latest version of DVR. It used to work okay. Please advise.

Seems to be working fine for me. Make sure your capture location is defined and there is sufficient storage capacity in that location.

So I am having a similar izotope round trip problem. I am on Windows 11, RX 11, and Resolve 19.1 build 12. When I'm in Fairlight I select and send the clip to the external audio process. Audio clip goes out to RX and gets edited, but when I save it, the waveform gets updated in Resolve as a blank audio clip. No waveform/content. I've tried restarting Resolve and RX 11. I tried deleting and re-entering the External Audio Process info in settings. I checked the Project path to clip as noted above. All to no effect. I have plenty of disk space. I've used this many times before in earlier versions of each app and never had a problem. I did just upgrade to Resolve 19.1

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It’s a known problem introduced in 19.1. Yippee. Workaround - select the clip and open the inspector > Files tab and scroll down to the waveform area where the levels are shown for each channel. You’ll notice the levels have been set to -100. That’s the bug. Reset them to zero. That will correct the issue.

OMG WOW... Never would have found that. It took me a bit to find/fix that, but it worked.

Thanks so much!

Glad I could help. It took me quite some time to figure out what was going on. Apparently it will be fixed in 19.1.1 according to support. No ETA on that update, though. For now we have a fix that gets around the issue, though. Cheers.

Maybe you can help me again...

I upgraded to Resolve 20 and now when I try to connect with RX11 as an external process, RX11, starts, but kicks out the error message that the file could not be opened, because it could not be found. Everything was working until I upgraded to BMR 20 - not a beta, but the released version. I deleted the RX11 external process in BMR settings and added it back again and restarted, no joy. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I haven’t tried RX11 on Resolve Studio 20 yet but I wonder if it has something to do with changes to the ‘capture’ location being inaccessible? Have you tried with a new project and set the project files location to what you used to use for your capture location. Not in front of my machine - can’t recall what the new location is called but it’s a path you can select when you create a new project.

Wow - Two for Two! I created a new project and set the location to the location of my other project files and this time it worked. Maybe with major releases it resets the audio file location for external processing. I'll remember this for the next year's major release.

Thanks - AGAIN!

Awesome - hopefully I’ll remember this when I get around to working with v20, lol! Cheers.
