Invoking GPU Optimization

PostSat Aug 31, 2024 4:54 pm

Hello,
I just installed DaVinci Resolve 19, I was prompted to go through the process for GPU Optimization. I saw that optimization process it was taking a while, so I went upstairs to do a few things... When I came back, my computer went to sleep and I couldn't wake it up... (Sorry new Windows installation and I didn't change the power settings.) In any case Windows logged off and shut down Resolve. I looked through the menus to see if I could invoke the optimization again, but could find nothing.

Is there a simple way to invoke the GPU optimization that I might just be missing?

Thanks!

I've only ever seen it at first run. I'm unaware of any way to invoke it manually.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

신경 엔진 최적화는 TensorRT.cache 파일에 저장됩니다.

Windows에서는 다음 경로에 있습니다.

C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\DVIP\Cache

여기서 USER_NAME은 Windows 사용자 이름입니다.

해당 파일의 이름을 바꾸거나 삭제하면 Resolve에서 다음에 실행할 때 최적화를 수행할지 묻습니다.

Neural engine optimizations are stored in the TensorRT.cache file.

On Windows, it is located in:

C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\DVIP\Cache

Where USER_NAME is your Windows username.

If you rename or delete that file, Resolve will ask you if you want to perform optimizations the next time you run it.

I wonder if this has any effect on your problem.

Yes. In Davinci Resolve -> Preferences -> Memory and GPU -> untick Use neural engine optimization for NVIDIA -> restart Davinci.
Then tick it back on -> restart davinci
It will now do the optimization step.
Davinci Resolve Studio 20 build 49, Windows 11, Ultra 7 265k, Nvidia 5070 TI, 576.66

Thank you leesang and Mads! I wish though BMD offered a simple intuitive way to repeat GPU optimizations because installed video cards change, configurations of video cards change, video card drivers change, ...

When I do that, I am automatically prompted again.

I don't believe it's required for driver updates, though.

FYI, I just switched from an RTX 4090 to 5090. Reinstalled drivers, several reboots, etc. And this was not triggering automatically when I launched Davinci. Thank you folks for explaining how to trigger it manually.
