Resolve does not activate under Xubuntu 22.04

PostSun Sep 29, 2024 9:59 am

Hey all,

I've successfully installed DaVinci Resolve Studio 19.0.1 on both Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 however in both cases I cannot activate my license! It keeps saying "Cannot validate license key, please try again later". I've used a VPN and disabled any firewall rules that might interfere but nothing helped. I've checked with Wireshark, and a request is made....it just fails. I've tried several times over the course of several days, but I can't seem to activate it. Any thoughts?

Came across with this issue. Solution:

you need ownership on your license location. Make sure your location matches to the location below. On the forum I looked resolve was name something else...
sudo chown -R $USER:$USER /opt/resolve/.license/

ran these others
