Davinci resolve keeps crashing with an error 5: GPU FAILED IN IMAGE PROCESSING! This was not in the previous version.
Where can we get the older version? I am losing precious time.

Try updating the GPU driver.

Then you say roll back the drivers, then update them. Maybe you can bring DaVinci back to how it was before, when everything worked stably?
It's time to admit that something went wrong with version 19. Not only are you killing all the good things that were in it, but it is also unstable and very buggy.

If you have an Nvidia GPU it needs driver version 550.58 or newer to run Resolve 19.XX, as shown in the system requirements.
I've not had any instability on my system with any of the Resolve 19 versions.

I am having the same problem. I just updated to 19.1, and it keeps crashing whenever I try to do any editing in my current project.

My GPU driver is current (AMD Radeon(TM) R7 Graphics).

What else might be the problem?

I can't even start a new timeline without Davinci crashing. maybe Davinci pulled the plug on all AMD gpu users over night To bad I paid for the studio and getting shafted now.

There’s a decent chance that the driver you’re using - even though it’s an up to date driver - isn’t the right one for Resolve.

The main things that seem to cause instability with Resolve are:
- bad driver
- bad ram
- overclocking

These can hurt Resolve even when other apps work fine because:
- Resolve relies on the GPU more than most any other app
- Resolve pushes the machine very hard which may cause it to heat up which will cause borderline ram and overlocking to fail.

While I admit I don't do more than basic stuff on my old laptop (no fusion, masking, 8K, etc), crashing has never been an issue. 32 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1660 ti.

There are lots of possible reasons besides the video driver. Black Magic really needs the crash logs to diagnose.

It not working correct with latest nVidia drivers. I was personally offered to roll back the drivers to the old version. But at the same time they could not specify where to get them, because neither on the nVidia website nor on Google it was possible to find them. And now they say on the contrary it will be updated.
And, sorry, but we are not free users.

Use the manual search function to enter your GPU details. It will give you a list of drivers. The latest one is not always the best choice. I have no problems with the earlier Studio 561.09 driver. When installing use the Custom choices and do a clean install.

It's not unknown for an occasional Nvidia driver to cause problems which they are usually very quick to rectify.

And it doesn't help. DaVinci continues to be buggy. He behaves especially strangely with the transfer of projects through the export of the project. After this procedure, the number of glitches and errors starts to go through the roof. Despite the fact that the project is transferred to the same version of DaVinci.
