Automatically label gallery stills using (error)

I have used: "gallery still" to export images. But I can not setup automatically "image_name".
It seems like the "Append still number on export" was an error. Because I unchecked this box but my exported image names still have numbers at the end.
I don't know why?

I got the same name with the box checked or unchecked.

As far as I understand it, despite the way its presented in the options, its a choice of Suffix or Prefix... if neither then you'd end up with multiple stills exports just overwriting each other due to them all (potentially) having the same export name.

Yes, I see. But I need to export 1 image from 1 frame and then rename it. It's inconvenient because we can check the box if we're afraid of duplication.

Append still number on export checkbox: When enabled, each new still has an appended still number. Where the number appears depends on the following naming drop-down: Lets you choose what name to use for new stills. Options include: Clip Name, Clip Version Name, Source Timecode, Timeline Timecode, Timeline Name, Display LUT Name, Custom Label Using Tags (using metadata variables).

As Suffix/As Prefix buttons: Lets you choose to place still numbers at the end of an auto generated gallery label or at the beginning.

If you need to export just an image. You can export it by going to file menu and choosing export: Export Current Frame as a still.... It will work on cut, edit and color page. It will take what is in the timeline, the resolution and all the effects and color grading and export it as a. png, jpg or any other image format.

In fusion you can right click on the viewer and choose save image...

My cheap workaround:

1) export all the stills with the names you've given them

2) to get rid of the appended track/clip number, use a 3rd-party file renaming program like one of these:

I use these all the time to fix exported name problems as a batch process, and it's very easy to do: just tell it "delete the last 6 characters before the extension" and it's done.

I agree, it would be nice if those weren't there, but I try to pick my battles.
