Media Offline

PostSun Nov 24, 2024 5:21 pm

I am running Resolve19. I import new media files H264 and H265 into a new progect and they appear as "Media Offline". As far as I know this has nothing to do with "relocating files". I tried that. Let me repeat ; in a new progect imported media files import as Media Offline! Extremely frustrating with such a capable program. Other more simple editing programs on my computer have no problems whatsoever importing and using the files. Thanks for any assistance! Jon-newbie

Free on a PC? Or Mac?
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.

This does sound like a limitation of the Free version of Resolve. You may need to invest in Studio for your media to work properly.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

My questions were aiming at the same point.
On a PC you need the Studio license for some modern codecs. Alternatively, you can transcode to an intermediate codec with free software, but you'll temporarily need more space.
