Mac M1 Mini Audio recording with Yeti USB Mic

PostTue Nov 26, 2024 6:29 pm

All

I searched through the forum and did not find any tips or clues to diagnose and fix this issue.

The Yeti Mic is working fine on all my systems as well, including with Audacity on Ma M1 Mini.

I have everything setup properly on Davinci Resolve, the audio track armed and seemingly recording inputs from Mic. But when I stop recording, the track (and the wave file) are completely empty.

I have a "resolve" (pun intended) to get this behind me, as I gave up every time tried in the past.

Hope to tap into your wisdom. I will also attach a Screen Shot so you can see the situation visually.

Thanks in Advance.
P.S. Screen Shot is too large!! Will post in the next.

Hmm it was a struggle to add the screen shot.

Is there a simple method to say automatically resize/compress the screen shot to fit the size constraints.

It will save lot of time for all users.
The forum should enable easy posting by users (without driving storage requirements on the server).
I hope you all agree.

In the screen shot you see the second row with Green and Red segments.
Red is when it is recording (though it is not).
The green is what I get when I stop recording. The contents are empty.

I went ahead and enabled Logi tech Hub thinking it might be required.

On enabling it, I found that I had to enter the password chain password (it turned out to be MAC mini password) and I could proceed.

Then I saw that LogiTech Hub driver had to be "Unblocked or enabled" and I went ahead went through the menus and got a message they Yeti Mic is enabled!! (while it was already working even before this).

I tested the MIC on the LogiTech Hub screen and it tested fine.

I also tested with Audacity and everything is working fine.

So I am still perplexed an dumbfounded!!

I left the LogiTech Hub running -- just in case it has some other vagaries.

Has Resolve been granted permission to access the Microphone?
macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone

Is the Yeti selected as the default input in AMS?
macOS Applications folder > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup

Right click the source list and select "Use this device for sound input".
Fairlight Studio Console 3 Bay • Merging Hapi • Anubis • Merging Premium VAD (3.4.0) ↔︎ Lawo VSC (1.0.0)

The perfect pointer.
I enabled the microphone access which was by default "nothing". Audacity it was On.

Everything is working now nicely.

Thanks a Million.

Reynaud

I wanted to give hearts and stars to your response.

For some reason I do not see the buttons for it.
Will figure it out soon.
