Applying the default duration for still images

PostWed Nov 27, 2024 4:46 pm

Your help would be welcome please...

I've set my default duration for stills to 1.05 secs (to help me edit to the beat of a specific music track). However when I append the images to the timeline they come in at 1.01 secs. I've reimported the images to the media pool, but this doesn't change. I've tried this with both a 24 and 30 fps timeline, but again no difference.

I also tried to the image duration of all the clips to 1.05 sec once on the timeline on the timeline but this will only do one clip at a time...

Is this a bug, of am I doing something wrong? Something to do with sub-frame durations perhaps?

Thanks very much

Not sure if there is a technical reason, or a glitch, but you can enter value in frames, 30 frames = 1.05 secs. You can also select the clips after the fact and enter value, but if you want them to all resize, switch to Trim Edit Mode. Icon on the toolbar , right next to arrow selection tool. Shortcut is "T". For changing CTRL + D. Make a selection, switch to trim mode with T, and invoke clip duration with CTRL + D.

Are the beats always the same length? I mean do you need the images to be equally spaced out across the length of the audio? If, so than you could do it with fusion. Because that is really easy. Not sure if that is the thing you are in need of.

All you need is a fusion composition, dragged to the length of the audio track. In fusion than you use loader to load a image sequance, and add timespeed node where you divide speed value of 1 by the number of images you have. And set interpolation to nearest. Depending on how your sequance is, you might have to set loader to loop mode, but other than that its quick and simple.

If its not about even distribution than probably doing it like I mentioned in previous thread, until blackamgic or someone comes up with script for automation.
