Power Window keyframing bugs.

Am I the only one around here who keeps finding bugs over bugs keyframing manually a power window?

There are shots where the automatic tracking is totally useless so I have to do the tracking of the Power Window manually.

The bugs I keep finding:
1. Sometimes the keyframes level of opacity is at 100% but the gaussian blur won't show up until I start changing the opacity value of the power window a little.
2. Sometimes the value of the opacity jumps to 100% where there are no keyframes defining this behavior at all.
3. Inconsistently with no keyframes the opacity jumps to 100% ot down to 0%.

You complain all the time. You should post some proper evidence, to make sure its not you and only you. And that its not do to user error.

If you post a short project drp displaying these bugs, that might help BMD support replicate the issues you are seeing. I make this suggestion with the presumption that you would like to see these issues addressed by the development team.

I dunno -- I do an awful lot of manual Power Window tracking, and I have never, ever seen unexpected opacity changes. Generally when I do need to fade a window in and out, I do that as a Color keyframe and use Key Output Gain to change the opacity (a trick I learned from Nikolai Waldman about 6-7 years ago). I find that more effective than opacity per se, since the fade can happen independently of window position.

Are you using a control surface, or are you doing this all with a mouse? The opacity should not change by itself, but there's been scattered reports of some parameters going up and down, particularly in the OFX window. I haven't encountered that yet, so this is all anecdotal so far.

During sessions, I'll sometimes check window position and accuracy with the Highlight button, and that usually reveals if the window is poking out from the side of a person's face or otherwise going somewhere it shouldn't. If the opacity was changing, I'd see it in this mode, so that's a check you can try.

I report bugs and I am not "complaining", we are not in the kindergarten I guess. :geek:

I will make a video presentation of the crazy bugs I face during next week.

Can you the answer the question on all your specific hardware, the specific codecs being used, CPU/GPU, timeline settings, whether you're using a control surface or a mouse, and so on?
