Automatic subtitles in International/British English?

PostFri Nov 29, 2024 3:17 am

Hi,

Is there any way of making the automatic generation of English subtitles use International/British spellings?
It seems to default to US spelling even though my entire PC setup is set for British English, and it gets a bit tedious correcting it.

Studio version 19.1 but it's always been US spelling.

I think its probably just "English" meaning US. You could use alternatives if you need it. You will have to investigate on your own does it support what you need. For now, I think Resolve is limited to handful of languages.

I think this program, subtitle edit can do a lot of stuff, probably also what you need.

And there are some scripts for resolve.

Could we maybe get this added to the request list?

International/British English spelling is used by as many people, if not more, than US spelling.
Even the USA's nearest English speaking neighbour (YES NeighboUr :p ) Canada uses a lot of British spelling :D

I wouldn't think this would be too hard to implement, the speak-to-text engine already understands the words being spoken, it just needs its dictionary file edited.

Oh, that's rather interesting... Might actually help me with something else I was working on.
Thank you, I'll give it a try.

- Still no excuse for resolve not doing "proper" English though :-p
