Removing OFX plugins in 19.1.1

PostFri Dec 06, 2024 1:15 pm

Hi all.
I upgraded my Topaz Video AI software and it didn't work with the existing OFX plugin I had installed, so I updated the OFX plugin from TVAI. Then Resolve kept crashing when I opened a project. So I removed the OFX plugin from the common directory (I'm Running on Windows 10 btw). Now, even when I open Resolve, it keeps saying the OFX plugin is missing (I have disabled it from the list in Resolve's settings, but it's still there. I've completely uninstalled Resolve and re-installed it a few times and it's still in the list. How can I completely remove it from the list until I install it again? I saw in a topic that there's a cache .xml file somewhere, but I can't find it.

Thanks,
Andrij

The OFX cache file is here:

C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support

Where user_name is your Windows user name.

The file is called: OFXPluginCacheV2.xml

Rename it to OFXPluginCacheV2.xml.tmp, or delete it.

It will be regenerated when you start Resolve.

With my DRS 19.1.1, Topaz Video AI 5.5.x OFX failed to successfully load. Previous to 19.1.1 I had no issues.

I uninstalled Topaz Video AI and the OFX plugins and installed a previous TVAI 5.3.2.

Currently, TVAI is working nicely as a DRS OFX plugin.

So the issue seems to be on the Topaz side of the equation.

Maybe this info will provide a solution you.

Yep, I made similar observations. Some iterations of the Topaz plug-in work, some not, with no apparent rhyme or rhythm. I stick to the standalone now when needed.

My 2cts of personal opinion is I see no gain in trying to use it inside of Resolve...

The overall purpose of what Topaz does is a whole project by default, I totally opt for treating a source in Topaz and when I'm satisfied, THEN I ingest in Resolve.

Actually it's not my opinion on any OFX which also comes with a solid standalone version, I can understand for example the benefit of using Mocha Pro inside a Fusion node flow, even if the standalone version is well known, but for not for the Topaz purposes imho. [2cts/]
