Hello.
I've been trying all day to get Resolve working with no luck. Every time I download it, I'm able to open it one time, which presents me with the setup screen, but once I go through it and it's time to open the actual program, I get a pop up with the following message:
-----
Assertion Failed!
Program... Design\Davinci Resolve\Davinci Resolve Welcome.exe
File: C:\Jenkins\workspace\resolve\Resolv...\UiResol...IPC.cpp
Expression: p_Socket && (p_Socket->state()==
QLocalSocket::ConnectedState)
For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts
----
This message pops up with the options to abort, retry or ignore, all of which do nothing.
I updated my display drivers (nvidia and intel i7), downloaded Microsoft Visal C++ x64 and x86 and reinstalled Davinci multiple times.
Here are my specs:
Windows 10
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz
Installed RAM 16,0 GB (15,9 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Davinci Resolve version 19.1.2

In a File Explorer window, go to:
C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve
and run CaptureLogs
This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows Desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).
Then open the Windows System Information app and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.
Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here. Make sure the links don't require access credentials.
If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

The Intel HD Graphics 630 iGPU driver file igdrclneo64.dll is crashing the Resolve GPU detect process at startup.
You have the Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.2134 installed, which is the very latest 12-19-2024 driver, it appears. So I'm not sure why it would be crashing Resolve, unless there is an issue with the latest driver.
Since it's a laptop, a couple of suggestions:
Make sure you have it connected to AC power. I've seen situations where on battery power, the system reverts to the Intel iGPU and stops using the NVIDIA GPU, causing issues.
Go into Window Graphics Settings, and make sure the NVIDIA high performance option is selected and make sure the Resolve.exe app is set to use the NVIDIA GPU.
If none of that helps, maybe revert to the previous Intel graphics driver 31.0.101.2130 from 9-3-2024.

You might forget to uncheck the “DaVinci Control Panels” option during the DaVinci Resolve installation. A control panel is a hardware device; if Resolve looks for this device when it launches and can't find it, it won’t open.

That's not true. Installing the control panel app (the default) should not cause an issue with no control panel available.
That said, on SOME Windows systems, for SOME still unknown reason, the DaVinci Resolve Control Panels app will cause a Resolve startup crash. We've never been able to repro this, so we don't know why it happens. But it's happened to several people here on the Forum, and uninstalling the DaVinci Resolve Control Panels app is the solution.
The indication for this issue is apparent in the System Information Windows Error Reporting area, which is one of the reasons I always ask Windows users for a System Information .NFO file.
And while I appreciate the intentions of the Wondershare link you provided, I would note that step 2, while it USED to be a good suggestion pre Resolve 16 or so, with current Resolve versions, doing that will certainly cause Resolve not to launch. And step 9 is NOT a "Clean" Resolve reinstall. Step 9 will uninstall Resolve so you can install earlier versions, but it does not touch any Resolve user or project data. Doing a true clean reinstall (which is sometimes required) is a more involved process.

Thank You Dwaine,
I am leaving this message so you know that your post helped someone else.
My copy of Resolve was working fine until today and it wouldn't load, so I updated and had the same problem but a message about CUDA.
I then updated the graphics card driver, but that didn't help (was not that far out of date).
I disabled the built in graphics on the motherboard and that made no difference.
In short, what fixed it was going into Windows Graphics settings and adding resolve.exe as an app, then setting it to use NVIDIA high performance. It was set to "let Windows Decide" by default.
I assume a Windows update has started the problem for me but its all back to normal now.
Thanks.

I can't get Davinci to run, much like other. I installed it a few months a go and it worked great. Then I got my computer repaired and now it won't get past the loading screen. Either an error or it just doesn't show anything. I attached my log files. Maybe you can help
I already updated graphics drivers, disconnected usbs, reinstalled every version I could from 19 to 20. Removed the Control panel app. I also changed the graphics settings from Let Wndows decide, to AMD only and back to only Nvidia, didn't help. I don't need to reinstall windows since I just got a blank new win11 OS back from the repair shop and Davinci was one of te first programs I tried to install.
I am not running on battery.
I tried to go into the app properties and Disavbled fullscreen opt/run as admin. Nothing worked there.
PLease help! I love this program.
