Has anyone heard any whispers on when there may be an update to resolve studio to support the new 50 series cards? i was struggling with my old system so built a new pc only to find out that the 5080 is not yet supported, really keen to get it up and running so just wondered if there was any word? ps im pretty new to resolve so not sure what their update regularity is like

was kind of hoping for something sooner as nvidia website lists an update as due 30th of jan, but bm are not answering any emails that I've sent, feel a bit let down that I've invested so much and now don't know how long i have to wait to use my set up

What's not working with Resolve 19.1.3?

If you've installed that required 30 January Nvidia Studio driver and you're not getting the new decode and encode features that's all you can do until they update.

BlackMagicDesign? Any news? Lots of us desperate to make full use of our 50 series cards. Really need that 10bit 265 decoding update!

Im so happy to see BM worker replied and seeking forums about this.
I've bought RTX5090 and neural engine doesn't work at all.

As you know Neurel Engine provides huge improvement with Optical Flow, Magic Mask, Noise Reduction and many GPU effects.
For example my previous GPU RTX3080ti provides 45fps tracking speed on magic mask at 4K timeline

But world's fasters GPU RTX5090 only provides 22fps on same timeline :) due to lack of neural engine optimisation. Resolve ask me to optimize it at every start-up of software, even it does complate optimisation it doesn't work. Disable or enable doesn't change anything

Not just only me, all 5xx series owners has same issue ( saw in BM forums ) we just want our huge investments works as it should be. ( I've spend 5400$ for this hardware update )

Sorry, just seen your question,
so neural engine optimisation fails at the last step,
no options to enable my gpu encoders

i built a new rig purely because my old rig was struggling with editing 4k video from dji drones and camera,
i went from a
i5 13600K
RTX 4070ti
32gig DDR4 ram
to..
i9 14900k
rtx 5080
96gig DDR5

when trying to play back a timeline it was stuttering and dropping frames,
now im editing on my new rig and getting the same but worse as its relying on my onboard graphics,
its frustrating to have spent thousands to build my ideal set up then have it run resolve about as well as a potato

Right. Resolve 19.1.4 and earlier are going to have issues with neural engine optimization on NVIDIA 5000 series GPUs. My only suggestion for now is to disable neural engine optimization.

We are aware of the issue, and I assume a fix will be forthcoming, but I have no insight as to when that may be.

Black magic provided Puget a beta version of Resolve for their 50 series review

"Additionally, NVIDIA has provided a pre-release version of DaVinci Resolve to reviewers which is compatible with 50-series cards and properly uses the updated NVENC/NVDEC engines to accelerate additional “flavors” of LongGOP codecs, such as HEVC 4:2:2 10-bit."

So BM is working on it, just have to wait until it goes public. If the assumption of v19.5 dropping at NAB (5-apr) is correct, you should only have a few more days.

Not sure if Resolve does closed betas for their updates? I guess you could email and ask to get it ahead of time.

Guys, I have just upgraded from RTX3060 to RTX5070ti and after a short test I can tell, that not using Magic Mask or smth like this, only regular projects I am dealing with (keying, NR) it seems that exporting to UHD and h.265 seems to work 2x better and no visible issues so far. Initially yeah, there was like two attempts to run DaVinci and two times neural engine optimization process (idk why?) byt after that the program just works fine to me. I am a bit confused after reading about lack of RTX50xx series support from BM. Anyone else can say something about it?

We are just waiting them to support 5 series properly. Neural engine is not workin on 5 series

So it means 6x slower magic mask track, 5x slower optical flow performance, 3x slower noise reduction etc.. and any other Neural engine improvements too

They know that and gonna fix them soon. I also have rtx5090 and it does render 4x faster than my previous rtx3080ti, but without neural engine 3080ti works faster with above stuffs :)

So export times will be even better with BM update for 50xx series? That's so great :D We can't wait for it then :)

Is it recommended to upgrade from stable 19 to beta 20 for 5070 support?

I've just updated to version 20. No asking for neural optimisation at the beginning as I was expected (why?). Do I see any speed increase in exporting? Not really but it seems that this version engages less CPU (almost nothing) compared to version 19 so I hope that this is RTX50xx support in some range (hopefully more in future with furter releases). Anyone tested AI features yet?

I am too lazy to chase down the post, but one of the BMD staff said that for version 20, the optimization was built-in and did not need to be run.

Thank you for that explanation! So it seems that everything is in order.

I was not aware of this. But I've verified with the dev team that this change happened in v20 beta 4.

So correct, you will not see any messages about neural optimization in the v20 release. Yay?

The GPU prefs switch to use or not use neural optimization is still active. So I would expect, maybe, you'll see a performance difference in something, with that switch on or off.

There's a noticeable performance difference, but DR20 Final still crashes. When will the 5080 issues finally be resolved?
