Hey Everyone,

Hoping someone has a fix for me to get Da Vinci Resolve installed on my Linux Mint test system.
Trying to switch over from Windows but Resolve has trouble installing.

When I run the installer I get the error:

Code: Select all

Error: Missing or outdated system packages detected.

Please install the following missing packages:
    libapr1 libaprutil1 libasound2 libglib2.0-0

Use SKIP_PACKAGE_CHECK=1 to bypass the system package check.

Installation cancelled.


When I run apt install for the missing packages, for most of them I get that they are already at the latest version (example libapr1):

Note, selecting 'libapr1t64' instead of 'libapr1'
libapr1t64 is already the newest version (1.7.2-3.1ubuntu0.1).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 8 not upgraded.


The only exception is Libasound2 where I get the error that there is no installation candidate

Package libasound2 is a virtual package provided by:
  liboss4-salsa-asound2 4.2-build2020-1ubuntu3
  libasound2t64 1.2.11-1build2 (= 1.2.11-1build2)
You should explicitly select one to install.

E: Package 'libasound2' has no installation candidate


Any ideas on how to get this installed and working?

Here ya go, nvidea and there is a amd version as well. I know it works as its how I got mine working.

Heres a thought how about BMD just fix the issue to begin with .. this issue happens with all new releases of Ubuntu or debian flavours and sub systems .. Maybe Black magic should update their installers
