fusion image save

PostSat Mar 08, 2025 1:56 pm

im masking out some logos for folks. after I'm done I right click and save image, it defaults as a png which is what I need. When I do this and view the image it is desaturated somehow? Im not sure if fusion masking translates into the color page, but my next step was heading to the color page and exporting the image I masked in fusion as a jpg. the colors were intact this way but the mask was not present. my question is why does the png save in fusion change the colors? my goal is to take apart logos in pngs and reassemble them in an animation.

Looks like you have a LUT applied in Fusion, which may be affecting how it looks there.

Yes, try with lut turned off and if possible don't use Microsoft photo viewer, which is not color managed and if you are using color managed workflow it will probably give you differnt results. Use something else, try Honeyview or something similar.

this is an un edited image i am simply using polygon to mask out.
import- str8 to fusion and out to png by right clicking on viewer window in fusion.
no luts are on it. no color work has been done at all

Viewer lut icon is turned on in the fusion viewer. Upper right corner. I assume you are probably using Davinci Resolve YRGB Color Managed settings in your project or timeline, which would turn the viewer lut automatically to compensate.
