Has anyone experience the newest update failing to load or crashing?

19.1 was working fine and it it said a new update to 19.1.4 was available so I initiated the update and now I cant open Resolve at all. It just freezes on the opening screen every time.

I've updated my NVIDIA GeForce drivers to the most update. I've uninstalled and re-installed multiple times and no matter what I get the same results every time. Very frustrating..... please help I have projects that need to be done yesterday.

Dan

I have the very same issue, I open rep[solve the loading splach screen starts then the whoel thing crashes and stops.
I tried downloading software again, but it says newer version alreday installed, so now Im trying the Beta version 20, to see if that does anything.
Annoying as I cannot do anything with it.

Luckily I have Premiere Pro to fall back on when this fails.

Following-on from my last reply, I have downloaded the V20 Beta version and that does the same, just crashes on loading.
So No DVResolve since last update.

If you have Topaz installed, that's been the root of many Resolve on Windows startup issues lately.

Otherwise, please provide the following info:

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows Desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open the Windows System Information app and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here. Make sure the links don't require access credentials.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

And indeed, Topaz is causing the Resolve crash.

In File Explorer, go to this folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins

In that folder will be a Topaz related folder(s). Delete or move that folder out of the Plugins folder, which will prevent Resolve from trying to load the Topaz OFX plugins.

Stand alone Topaz should still work properly. At least, that's what others have reported.
