Audio playback issue M4 MacBook Pro

So I have an issue playing back timelines where there audio sequences.
If I turn all the audio tracks of playback is fine and in real time.
Usually I am playing back EXR sequences that are comped into timeline then places on the main timeline.
The audio sequences are placed on the main timeline and are usually mp3 or wav files.

I cannot play back the time line when audio is on with out lockups and stutter.
This did not happen the first few weeks I have my MacBook.

Specs are M4 MacBook Pro 64 GB RAM 40 core GPU.

Any ideas on what is causing this and what possible ways I have to fix this.
Using video proxies makes no difference.
A way to universally mute sound would be nice so I can continue working while I find a permanent solution.
I can't find a way to do this.
This issue does not affect exports they render normally.

So today I opened resolve and started trying to play back a timeline. All of a sudden the Mac volume went to full blast playing a glitched version of the audio track. I had to quite resolve to stop it.

Is there an issue with resolve and M4 chips? I really need to get my project out and am struggling here, with various glitches.

Just punishing this back up as I still have the issue with resolve being very laggy when I play back audio layers and am no closer to a solution.
