I like the fact that they eliminated the difference between object and person mask because now you don't have to think "maybe this would've looked better with person mask or object mask" and the thing is that if it's smart it should now exactly what you are looking at, and now it does that, great, just waiting till they add it to Fusion

+1 to add the better model to the Fusion Page as well.

And hopefully it comes with further refinements so removing something from the mask propagates as well. It's very hit or miss. And we have seen from other ML based roto tools that they are able "to remember" when you subtract something from the mask.

I believe there is a reasonably easy workflow you can make use of to use Magic Mask 2 in the Fusion page.

It involves adding Alpha Output to a Color Page clip, then rendering out the result, then bringing into Fusion with the Mask added.

Yeah, subtracting things from the mask has only been a miss for me so far. It only lasts one frame and then it immediately forgets what it was supposed to remove. For some reason it can't remember to remove the stationary background across multiple frames... I mean, nothing has changed, so just keep doing what I told it to do earlier. lol

The add parts look absolutely amazing though, the edges are way better than V1. Once the subtraction part is worked out, this Magic Mask is going to be killer!

You actually don't need to render the result.

I put the clip with Magic Mask inside of a Fusion Clip, then open the Fusion Clip in Fusion. The masked clip will show up in Fusion. To edit the Magic Mask further, open the Fusion Clip in a new timeline to get access to the clip with the Magic Mask. The changes will show up in Fusion when you go back. I've actually preferred using the Color page Magic Mask even with V1, so I've been doing it this way the whole time and it works great.
