I am writing to provide feedback on the latest release of DaVinci Resolve 20. I am experiencing significant performance issues on my MacBook Pro M1 (purchased in 2021) since upgrading.
Prior to installing version 20, my system remained cool and the fan was inaudible, even under load. However, immediately after installing the new version, my MacBook Pro is heating up considerably and the fan is producing a very loud noise, which is unprecedented on my system.
This occurs even when using the Edit page, although I primarily work within the Fusion page.
This level of performance degradation is concerning and I hope this feedback is helpful in identifying and resolving these issues.
System using:
MacBook Pro M1 16 gb 1 Tb
DaVinci Resolve Studio 20
