Pausing w/ space bar has 2+ frame delay
Posted: Tue Apr 08, 2025 2:52 pmHi! I've searched high and low online but since most search engines and youtube etc. are useless I can't really find anyone talking about this. I'm sorry if there exists a thread somewhere that I just couldn't locate. (I also searched here with advanced search).
I'm using the latest davinci resolve free version (DaVinci_Resolve_19.1.4_Windows) but I've had this issue in previous versions as well, but not with all of them. Every time I hit the space bar to pause the footage I'm editing, the red "cursor" (I'm sorry I don't know the proper word for it) doesn't stop immediately after pausing, but always adds at least two frames. So if I wanted to pause the timeline cursor at point A, the cursor stops at A.2 frames or more. This is highly irritating, because I have to manually go back two or more frames every time I want to stop and cut something, otherwise I cut away the first two frames I wanted to include.
What I have done to solve this:
- updated my drivers for my keyboard (using razer synapse, I have a regular, wired keyboard)
- updated davinci again, even though I was running the latest version
- updated and checked the keyboard preferences
PLEASE if you know what to do I would be extremely thankful or if this is a known issue, I hope they're going to fix this soon. As I said, not all installations of this program have worked like this. I think around 3 latest versions have had this issue and then sometime long ago but it went away for me with another update along the way. I really hope to fix this because it's making my editing extremely time consuming and definitely not enjoyable.
