Hi all,
I'm running into a frustrating issue with DaVinci Resolve on Windows. I previously had the new version installed (DaVinci Resolve 20.0.0b.0023, I believe), but after uninstalling it, I can no longer install any version — not the free version nor the Studio version.
Every time I run the installer, it tells me that "a newer version is already installed", and it only gives me the option to install the extra components (like PostgreSQL, control panels, etc.), but not Resolve itself.
Here's what I've already tried:
Used Revo Uninstaller and Fortect to remove any trace of Resolve.
Deleted all DaVinci Resolve folders from:
C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve
C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design
%AppData%\Blackmagic Design
Ran the Microsoft Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter to detect/remove hidden install traces.
Manually cleaned Registry entries under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blackmagic Design
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blackmagic Design
Restarted the system after every attempt.
Still, the installer insists that Resolve is already installed and won't allow me to proceed.
Has anyone encountered this before or knows how to force the installer to ignore the ghost version?
Would love to avoid a full OS reinstall if possible...
Thanks in advance!
