Crash During Editing and Then Crashing At Startup

PostWed Apr 09, 2025 2:25 pm

I started a new project on v20, and got through roughly 3 hours worth of editing. I went into the Color page to decided if I wanted to color grade some of the footage, but as soon as the Color page opened, I received a message saying my graphics card had crashed, and Resolve locked up and then crashed too.

Trying to relaunch Resolve resulted in crashing as soon as I tried to open a project in Project Manager. After updating Windows and the NVIDIA drivers, I still had the crashing at startup.

I then reinstalled Resolve, and I was able to get projects to open. I decided not to make any more changes to project, and just export it. It was going fine until about the last 10 seconds of the project when the video playback stopped. Nearly immediately, the render said it had failed. I checked the file that did export, and everything seemed fine, but it was missing the last few seconds starting where the playback stopped during the export process.

I tried re-exporting a few times with the same result, but with the playback stopping a little earlier each time, and leading to a failed export. I attempted on last time before having to call it a night, and Resolve crashed again. Trying to relaunch and open projects resulted in Resolve crashing again.

Has anyone else seen anything similar?
