Resolve 20 beta not reading DJI mpec4

PostWed Apr 09, 2025 2:40 pm

Resolve studio: I was busy with a project in 19.1.4 with some DJI mpeg4 clips and it work 100%. Today I updated to 20 beta and now the DJI mpeg4 clips show "media offline" I have tried to right click to re-link the clips but did not even give me the option. Can someone please help

A common error here is "upgrading" from Studio to Free, where the media isn't supported. Check that you DO have Studio.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

It’s such a shame that the free version is called Resolve not Resolve Free or some such. The name and lack of any warnings explaining what’s going on when codecs don’t work, warnings of offline media etc put a really sour taste in so many users’ mouths every time there’s an upgrade.

Even listing Resolve Studio before Resolve in the downloads would help. I’ve suggested all of these fixes.

But BMD has been very explicit that this will not change. Oh well!
