Animated Subtitles not using manually edited subs

In a recent project I have used AI to generate subtitles on my timeline and then I have corrected a couple of mistakes.
When I apply the highlight word animated text, the animation is still using the original generated subtitles not the corrected ones.
Is there a way to fix them or if this just a bug?

has to be a bug. i have the same issue. ai subtitles are misinterpreting words, and correcting them in their designated text boxes dont change whats on the screen. I can see that the subtitle clip in the timeline is showing the corrected text from the text box albeit no results.
I refreshed:
sub clip
project
resolve
no changes.
This will be very handy once they dial it in.

Yeah! I have the same issue! Can't edit the animated subtitle words.
Hopefully it will be fixed on an upcoming update.

new update: after messing with the subtitles texts resolve freezes after i ask it to do the new subtitles. i have to force close resolve and avoid the feature in general for now. i also found an unmentioned change on the editor keyboard; will post to new thread

As far as I understand the mechanics of the new animated subtitles, they use audio transcription data, not timeline subtitle data. That is, in the process of transcription DaVinci Resolve creates an array of data with timings for words, which are then used by the new presets. That is, we must use the following workflow to work correctly:
In the media pool we start Audio Transcription, then move to the clip level. In this case we have the possibility to edit individual words by selecting and choosing edit from the context menu. After editing, we switch back to the timeline level and launch Create subtitles from audio via the context menu. In this case we will get the edited subtitles on the timeline and will not lose the timing information of the individual words.

I have the same problem.
I tried this the way this Mr Alex Tech tutorial showed me,
but it does not work very well (yet)
I made a (Dutch) subtitle, but the were some mistakes made.
No problem you think. Just change the text till it is right.
I did, but in the video nothing changed.
See attachment.
Is it a bug? (betaversion) or did I do something wrong?

I can't get this to work - would you mind providing a clearer list of steps? Thanks!

I tried to show the process of working with the new subtitles in this short video. The workflow is far from comfortable, but this way we can fix errors and see the result by applying new animated presets

I’ve run into this issue as well. In the effect settings, you can see the incorrect word even if the subtitle has been edited. And the text box in the animated effect settings doesn’t allow you to change the text. It’s not a clear workflow and should be improved.

Thanks - now I understand
I gave it a try and while the subtitle text is updated, I found the timing of the animated title was off for the text I edited. First time trying this feature so it could be me, of course. I'll keep playing with it but I would appreciate others trying this workflow to see if they can get it to work seamlessly. Cheers and thanks again for posting this solution.

Even if it works it adds complexity and still you cannot import subtitles made outside DR.

You can use context menu on Media screen, and generate subtitles. then in top right corner there's export.
Then on Cut screen you can import those subtitles.

You can import any .srt file.

You've both made suggestions that importing subtitles will solve the stated problem if I understand your posts, however, the issue here is with regard to the new animated subtitle effects applied to the subtitle track and in order for that to work, at least at the moment, the subtitles must be auto-generated by Resolve. Imported titles will not animate correctly - even imported titles from a previously automated title generated export.

I noticed the same issue.
If we have ability to correct or in any mean change certain text in Inspector, that change should be applied everywhere, with every effect used, not just with default caption.
Yes, it can be solved by exporting a corrected .srt file, re-importing it, and applying the effect. But then, what is the purpose of speeding up the process with AI?

I haven't tried this but other users reported that this did not work - maybe they were mistaken. I've also seen a report that copying all the corrected subtitle clips to a new subtitle track (and then muting the original subtitle track) would allow for the application of an animated track effect but I haven't tried that either.

Have the same problem, tried the ideas listed above without results. Like export, import the correct but then it does not animate the texts, its just disapear. Hope we can get a fix asap because its a gamechanger for shortform videos.

OK, so this rectifies the original problem but it seems to throw up another one.
If you manually add a subtitle to the subtitle timeline by right clicking > Add subtitle, the preview for that clip is blacked out.

Thanks mate!
Your method is correct.
However, I found DR will trim the media to 1 frame if I drag the transcribed clip into timeline. Certainly I can drag the 1-frame clip to its original length. I think this is a bug, though.

Not really, only for Davinci generated subtitles tracks.
