v20 editor keybaord updates

PostFri Apr 11, 2025 2:10 pm

does anyone know if bm released a complete update on this? the source button has very different commands now and it doesnt work the same in the edit page. my workflow is heavily dependent on that ability to be able to switch back and forth between the timeline and media pool with I lose my place and the clip i was sourcing from needs to be brought back into source viewer.

I haven't tried it myself... but are you sure the functionality has changed?

If you open the what's new guide for v20 here: https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... _Guide.pdf

.... You can search the PDF for the word "speed editor"....

... And you'll see they mention the only changes are for "pressing and holding" actions on the Speed Editor. And the original key press actions should be the same.

yes since the source viewer has new default settings the source key on the editor keyboard has new commands. used to be able to jump from a source point to timeline, drop the clip in and hit source again and it would put you right back where you had just set the out point. now it does a few things involving the master track setting and personally i have no use for this and now it just takes longer to cut my footage with the E.K. its strange i hope they let us know whats going on i know they never bothered with an end-to-end manual for the keys.
