The "AI Remove Silence" pop-up window controls are amazing!
Kudos to whoever designed this!

They let you tweak exactly how much sensitivity before/after cuts.


How about for Video Tracks too?

Could we please get a little checkbox that would apply the pending Audio deletes to the Video track also simultaneously? (Or even to all visible tracks, if that's easier.)

I would LOVE to be able to automatically cut a long video of me talking into clips on the timeline... Currently I used "AI Transcription" to attempt this (and click delete all gaps button), but it will WAY TOO OFTEN chop off earlier parts of my sentence. Or cut too abruptly at the end of each sentence. It's so bad that I find it easier to simply do all the cuts myself manually.

Two possible ideas:

- "AI Transcription" also gets all these amazing sensitivity controls
- "AI Remove Silence" has an option to affect the video track too

Just wanted to start a new topic about this too! The standard Silence remover found in the Transcription window is nearly useless. It removes parts with persons speaking and leaves big chunks of silence at the same time. The AI tool is deadly needed there.

Without removing the video track fragments corresponding to silent sections, this function is useless.

In the beta release of DaVinci Resolve 20, a silence removal tool for audio was introduced. However, in its current formI don’t find it as useful as it could be. Itwould be far more powerful if this feature were comprehensive—workingnot only onaudio but also on videoand available directly on the Cut page with the following options:

1. Aligned cuts: when specifying where to remove silences in the audio, allow corresponding cutsin the video track—even if the video isn’t automatically deleted—to simplify manual cleanup afterward.

2. Full automation: automatically trim the audio, cut the video, and delete theempty gaps left by the silences. This setup would make the editing workflow much fasterand more efficient.

I’m not suggesting that the second option be the tool’s default behaviorbut rather an available choice for users. This enhancement would greatly speed up both editingand silence removal, offering a convenience that would surpass nearly any other editing software.

Worst of all is the tool’s behavior once you apply silence removal: after selecting the volume threshold, it deletes the audio but leaves an empty gap. When you try to make a manual cut at that point, the cut tool doesn’t snap exactly to the audio boundary—as if the audio doesn’t respect frame limits. This makes video trimming extremely tedious and, for me, practically impossible, since I’d have to cut the video and realign every audio clip. It’s far quicker to do it by hand, which in many cases renders this tool useless.

I often do recordings where I'll have numerous audio layers (system sounds, microphone, discord) in the same video file, but existing on seperate tracks.

The simplest solution in my mind is that whichever clip or track you select in Fairlight to remove silence on, becomes the nominated leader and you have a checkbox below "Fade Head and Tail" which reads "Cut other linked tracks" or something similar

So if I select my vocals as the leader, it cuts those gaps and gameplay visuals, discord and any other audio tracks follow suit.

Extra extra bonus points if it could automatically condense those down to have no gaps too

great feature, but basically useless to me if corresponding video frames aren't cut out simultaneously...
