Multitext - features missing

PostSat Apr 12, 2025 7:42 am

Multitext could be great but after using it there is some simple features missing. Most of the time, when i use more than one text, they all need to be of the same font size and same X or Y position. But right now, with Multitext, if i create a text, edit it and then add another one, it's a different size at a random position X and Y. It would be great that adding a text create one at the same font size than the last one and at the same X and Y position. Therefore we would just need to adjust one of the position sliders. Or maybe just a duplicate button to duplicate the text and attributes entirely. Having the copy of the text would also be great because it happens a lot that you have repeating texts such as "Clip 1, Clip 2, Clip3" or "Option X, Option Y, Option Z".
In fact using the Multitext is more consuming than the old way of copying a regular text+ which had he benefit to keep the font size, the position, the text...

Also what could be a huge benefit is to be able to distribute space and align between multiple text.
Also modifying the fonts or the sizes of all the texts. In fact, at first i thought that would be the huge bonus of this Multitext. But now i see that each text is really processed individually which is not very interesting then.

Right now the only interest i see is having a less cluttered timeline. But if this is at the cost of taking more time to do the same thing, i will not use it.

+1 for duplicating the last text parameters (font, color, size, ...) when adding an entry in Multitext. Having to re-pick all these parameters for each piece of text added is much slower than duplicating a Text+ node.
