Timecode Synced Clip Audio disappearing

PostTue Apr 15, 2025 11:10 pm

I am working on syncing clips for the first time in Davinci Resolve. I've used the program for many years but never to sync and organize footage. I am working in Davinci 20.

I have successfully synced the clips via timecode in the media bin, but after I do that and rename the clips according to the slate name such as (8A_1) and save the project and move the clips into their respective scene bins, suddenly the clips no longer play the audio or display the waveform whether or not I play them in the source monitor or timeline. If I click clip attributes, it still shows me those channels are present but there is no longer the info the sound mixer had added to the tracks. I am syncing with 'prefer proxies' selected.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program; I've downloaded the latest driver. I've tried syncing via the manual link function in the media tab.

I'm looking to understand what is causing this and how to fix it. Any suggestions are appreciated!
