Next Edit” and “Previous Edit while playback

As a professional editor switching from Adobe Premiere Pro to DaVinci Resolve, I’ve run into a critical workflow issue: the inability to use “Next Edit” and “Previous Edit” shortcuts while the timeline is playing.

In Premiere, I can move from cut to cut during playback, which is essential for rough cutting, music syncing, and fast edit passes. In DaVinci Resolve, I have to manually stop playback before I can jump between edit points. This extra step adds unnecessary friction and kills the editing flow — especially when you’re working at speed.

Please consider allowing Next/Previous Edit commands to be functional even during playback, just like in Premiere. This small change would massively improve timeline navigation and speed for editors coming from other platforms — and help DaVinci better serve professionals in time-critical environments.

I'm not in front of my machine at the moment but I just tried on my iPad with Resolve 19 and I can jump to next/prev edits while playing back the timeline (Resolve (free) 19 for iPad).

Add - tried on my MacBook - seems that I can jump forward during playback using the down arrow key but I can't jump backwards (to previous edit). It jumps to the start of the clip and then continues to play from there. Not surprising, I guess. This is with Studio 20b1.

I find those shortcuts working fine during playback on the Edit and Fairlight pages in Studio 20b1 for Windows.

While i can jump forward while playing just fine jumping back is the issue i can only go back to the the previous edit not the one before.

Because Playback does not properly stop when you move the Playhead, you need to be quick about hitting the Up arrow more than once.
