Open CL error with brandnew CUDA Nvidia 860M

I use a win 8.1 system with the new Nvidia 860M - brandnew very fast CUDA GPU on a brandnew i7 laptop.

Why am I getting the Open CL error upon start?

I can open a project, but when I want to import footage Da Vinci crashes.

What is wrong?

Just an idea.. in DaVinci Resolve preferences. Can you set the GPU to CUDA, not OpenCL?

In preferences under "Video I/O and GPU" (is that what you mean?) there is no such thing as switching from Open CL to CUDA. Or what do you mean?

There is no such thing as "set GPU to CUDA" in Da Vinci Lite preferences.

Problem solved:

I pasted this in preferences advanced:

LsManager.3.NumGPUs = 1
LsManager.3.GPUMapping = 0
LsManager.3.GPUMappingEnable = 1

The reason you were probably getting the error is because Resolve was detecting the Intel GPU on your laptop, you could try going into the nVidia control panel and under '3D settings' add in Resolve and tell it to always use the nVidia card

Thanks! I had the same problem. I installed a new GPU, and Resolve couldn't find it. I added the three lines of code to advanced settings, and now no error message, and it seems to work.

But in the GPU settings, Resolve still says that there are no GPUs installed. So I wonder - Is it actually processing on the new GPU? or did it just stop giving me error messages and crashing, but it's still using the original slow processor.
