Resolve Studio 20.b Build 23
Mac Studio M1 Ultra, Sequia 15.3.2
Operating on an ultra wide monitor has made it standard for me to have both of the side panels expanded most of the time (especially the left side). After updating to Resolve Studio 20 I now see that whenever I load a portrait/vertical ratio timeline, the expand button on the left side is deactivated. This forces the media pool panel to extend halfway across the screen and push the viewer far to the right. This all results in large areas of unused real estate on the screen and ruins the ergonomics of the layout.
I am further restricted on click-dragging the media viewer towards the left side of the screen. It will not let me shrink it past the halfway mark. The only alternative is two enable dual viewers, but that results in both viewers being off set to the left and right areas leaving a large blank space in the center of the screen.
Attached are photos illustrating the issue with examples of a horizontal timeline and a vertical timeline. I have searched everywhere I can think of within settings and in the project file to find a fix and I cannot seem to figure it out.
Am I missing something here? Thank you in advance for any insight.
