DVResolve 2.0 beta won't load any project after a crash

I was messing with the AI voice training and Resolve crashed in the middle of it. I can no longer load any project, nor creating a new project. Resolve will go into "Not responding" and then terminate/crash. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. If I install 19.1.4, it'll run just fine. No luck on 2.0 beta tho. Anybody else having the same issue? Thanks.

I had a crash while toggling on/off a deflicker effect, and now I can't open the project.

Just tried installing 2.0 beta 2, still no luck. It'll crash upon opening any project or creating a new project.
Is there a way to see if AI voice training is running in the background or not? My guess is it might be stuck.

I had a similar problem with Beta 1. Would crash whilst loading a program. Reinstalled 3 times, managed to do and complete a project, but would randomly crash, expecially if trying to open a second project. (Project used Contrast Pop, extended music files - so GPU intensive I guess)
Just installed Beta 2, won't load a project at all ... did load a simple completed project - then crashed.
Had no problems with Resolve 19.

Have you tried optimizing your database (if you're running a database server)? Or export your project, delete it in the local database, and re-import it?
I had similar issues in the past where a project will refuse to load after a crash. Since I was working off of a Resolve Database (postgresql), I was able to optimized the database and it worked fine again.

I can't even create a brand new project in v20 beta 2 (or beta 1) at the moment. So I don't think exporting/importing project(s) would help. =(

Mine works fine until I mess with the AI voice cloning feature, and I was stupid enough to drop a 30mins. long sample to train. (shouldn've started with a 3 mins. sample? I dunno, lol)

For people having issues opening Resolve in Windows, providing the following would be helpful:
In a File Explorer window, go to:
C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve
and run CaptureLogs
This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows Desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).
Then open the Windows System Information app and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.
Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here. Make sure the links don't require access credentials.
If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

Please humour me ... I'm getting old and my brain is not functioning ...
I've got the Zip file ready to go.
Where do I find the Windows System Information app? Anything I've found doesn't allow me to save.
What file sharing site - example please. And how do I link it?
Thank you in advance. I am computer literate (40 years), but it's all getting too hard.

hey buddy:
How to find and save the file correctly:
Open System Information:
Press
Windows + R, type
msinfo32, and hit Enter.
Or click Start and search for "System Information".
Save the file:
In the open app, go to File → Save... (top-left corner).
Important: Don’t choose Export, choose Save.
This will create a file with the .nfo extension (e.g., mysystem.nfo).
Choose a location to save the file, like your Desktop or Documents.
best

Send a project export .drp of the "AI Voices" project.
Generate the .drp by opening the Resolve Project Manager window, right clicking the project and selecting Export Project...
Many of your logs are polluted with tons of this type of error:
Failed to backup timeline DD Meat! Failed to create directory with path E:/Resolve Project
In Resolve Preferences - User - Project Save and Load, you have the Backup location set to E:/Resolve Project Backups
That appears that it may be a USB drive, and I'm guessing it's not always connected, causing the errors.
The backup location needs to be a drive that's always going to be there.

Weird, E:/ is a dedicated drive (always attached)
I can try change it in settings to see if it makes a difference tho.

I assume you've restarted/power cycled the computer since this started?
Install v20 beta 2 again, and if the crashing persists, try to following to see if something got messed up in the Preferences area:
Open File Explorer Options, and on the View tab, enable "Show hidden files, folders and drives".
Also unselect "Hide extensions for known file types".
Then in File Explorer, navigate to this folder:
C:\Users\alanc\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve
Rename the Preferences folder to Preferences.old
Now see if Resolve works OK.
If it does, it will have all the Resolve preferences set to default values.
If you had more than the standard default "Local Database" project library, those will not be shown. You'll need select the "Add Project Library" button and then select the "Connect" item, then enter the name and location of the project library(s). You can find that info in the dblist.conf file in the Preferences.old folder.
And if you had any other Resolve Preferences items modified from their default values, you'll need to modify those again as desired.
If Resolve still crashes, send a new Resolve log file.

One more suggestion to try:
In File Explorer, navigate to this folder:
C:\Users\alanc\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support
Rename the Fusion folder to Fusion.orig
Resolve will recreate a new default Fusion folder when launched.
Does that change anything?

I think I've figured it out.
I read through some of the replies, and decided to check out my Project Backup folders, and there were three of them. So I copied all the backup files into one folder, reset the settings, and so far, everything is working.
Obviously my folders mess was confusing the system.
Thank you for the suggestions and help people.

No luck, "Not Responding" then closed itself upon launch.

Then my only other suggestion is a complete clean reinstall of Resolve. Process for that is below.
Resolve 18/19/20 Clean Windows Uninstall/Install with User Data Preservation
The following removes ALL user specific Resolve data, including project and config data, to allow a clean Resolve install to solve issues created by corrupt user data.
However, as part of the process, copies are made of the current user data, in case there is project or config data that can later be copied back into the clean install.
If you are using Resolve Studio, this clean install will require that you re-enter your Resolve Activation code, if you are not using Resolve license dongle. So be sure you have your activation code at hand before you do this process.
Also, if you are using an activation code, and you can still launch Resolve Studio, you should deactivate the Resolve activation code before doing this process, so as not to use an extra activation. This is done in the Resolve Help menu.
Before going through the process, you need to set some File Explorer Options, so you can see hidden files and file extensions:
Open File Explorer Options, and on the View tab, enable "Show hidden files, folders and drives".
Also unselect "Hide extensions for known file types".
Now, uninstall all Resolve related stuff in the Windows Settings - Apps and Features area.
So go to the Windows Settings area, and select Apps & features.
In the Apps & features list are all the apps installed on your system. To uninstall an app, select it, and there will either be an uninstall button, or you may need to right click the app to access the Uninstall menu.
Uninstall the following, if they exist in the list:
Blackmagic Raw Common Components
DaVinci Resolve
DaVinci Resolve Control Panels
DaVinci Resolve Keyboards
Anything Fairlight related
Once you've done that, in File Explorer, go to this folder:
C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design
The DaVinci Resolve folder should have been removed when you uninstalled DaVinci Resolve. But if it's still there for some reason, delete it.
Now in File Explorer go to this folder:
C:\Users\alanc\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design
Rename the DaVinci Resolve folder to DaVinci Resolve.orig
Then in File Explorer go to this folder:
C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design
Rename the DaVinci Resolve folder to DaVinci Resolve.orig
This has now removed all the DaVinci Resolve data, including user specific projects and config data.
Now install Resolve, and see if it launches. If not, send a new Resolve log and NFO file.
